WARRANTY POLICY
MET warrants their helmets for a period of three years from the original
date of purchase to be free from defects in material or workmanship. Any
MET helmet that is returned to the factory and is found by MET defective
in material or workmanship will be either repaired, replaced with the
nearest helmet in price, size and color available, or credited at the
option of MET.
Be aware that MET
shall not be held liable for any indirect, special, or consequential
damages. The warranty does not apply to helmets which have not been
properly used according to MET owner manual instructions. The warranty
does not cover damages caused by accidents, abuse, negligence, incorrect
adjustment, or use for purposes other that those intended by MET. Any
modification made by the user will render the warranty null and void.
The warranty does not cover damages due to heat. See below for further
details.
Warranty Claim
Procedure:
To
return the helmet to MET for warranty claim, the consumer (not the
retailer) must first of all call or email the MET distributor of the
country where the helmet was purchased (Kian Hong Cycle),
and then send the distributor the following items, postage paid:
1. all parts of the defective helmet
2. an original
receipt with proof of date of purchase
3.
a completed
warranty claim form

stating the reasons for returning the helmet.
After inspection a "Warranty control report" is issued by MET laboratory
informing you of the results of the inspection. When not repaired,
helmets are destroyed after inspection.
Examples of damages
not covered by warranty:

Case 1: Micro-shell shrunk.

Helmet exposed to high temperature. Probably
exposed to the sun
behind a window. |
Case 2: Polystirene shell marked.

The polystirene a rather soft material that when hit
by sharp object
remains marked. May happen if the
helmet falls off, or if trashed in
the car together with
the bike for instance.

Case 3: Micro-shell crooked.

Looking closely, there are visible signs of the
micro-shell
being rubbed, indicating a crash.

CRASH REPLACEMENT POLICY
If a MET helmet, purchased within the last three years is involved in an
accident, MET offer to replace it to its owner for a reduced price.
Crash Replacement
Claim Procedure:
In order to receive the new helmet, the consumer (not the retailer) must
first of all call or email the MET distributor of the country where the
helmet was purchased
(Kian Hong Cycle),
and asked the price of the replacement (half the price of the
recommended retail price), and then send the distributor the following
items, postage paid:
- all parts of the damaged helmet
- an original
receipt with proof of date of purchase
- a cheque for the amount requested
- a
completed
warranty claim form

describing the details the accident,
e.g. where it occurred, when, nature of impact, etc.
The cheque must be made payable to "Kian
Hong Cycle Pte Ltd". The customer will be sent the nearest replacement
helmet available in price, size, and color to his/her original helmet.
The cost of carriage for returning the new helmet to the consumer is
paid by the distributor.
The Cost to the Consumer:
Cost of the replacement varies with models and is equal to 50% of the
recommended retail price plus S$5.00 administration fee. This includes
GST and transport cost for sending the replacement helmet back to the
consumer.
